From Painful Pregnancy Sciatica to a Peaceful Pregnancy and Thriving Postpartum

Pregnancy is a beautiful season, but for many moms it can also come with unexpected challenges. For one mama in our Radiant Waves community, her second pregnancy began with severe sciatic pain that made everyday life incredibly difficult.

At the time, she was already caring for a toddler at home and the pain was beginning to affect her ability to show up the way she wanted to as a mom.


When Pregnancy Pain Starts Taking Over

During her pregnancy, the sciatic pain became so intense that walking and standing were difficult.

What should have been a joyful season began to feel stressful and uncertain.

She tried using different back support bands in hopes that the extra support would bring relief. While they helped take some pressure off her belly, they did not address the pain she was experiencing.

Like many moms, she found herself wondering what options were actually safe and effective during pregnancy.


Finding Answers Through Nervous System Focused Care

When she first came into our office, one of the most meaningful moments for her was seeing her neurological scans.

Instead of guessing, the scans showed clear areas of imbalance in her nervous system that lined up with where she was experiencing pain.

For the first time, things made sense.

Seeing the scans gave her validation and hope that there was a real reason behind what she was feeling and that there was a path forward to help her body heal.

What stood out to her most was learning how important the nervous system is during pregnancy. When a mom’s nervous system is balanced and regulated, it supports not only her own health but her baby’s development as well.


Relief That Started Right Away

After her very first adjustment, she noticed something powerful.

Relief.

With consistent care, her mobility began to improve and the sciatic pain that had been limiting her daily life gradually faded away.

Within a couple of weeks of care, the sciatic pain was gone.

She was able to move freely again and return to caring for her toddler without the constant discomfort that had been weighing on her.


A Healthy Pregnancy and Strong Postpartum Season

The rest of her pregnancy went smoothly.

The baby she was pregnant with when she first came in is now three years old.

One of the things she is most proud of from that season was being able to pump breast milk for him for two full years. She credits her chiropractic care with helping her body stay regulated and resilient during that time.

She also noticed something else.

Whenever illness or other challenges came up, her body was able to recover quickly. With consistent adjustments and occasional booster visits, she felt supported through each new season of motherhood.


A Very Different Postpartum Experience

After her first baby, she remembered struggling with significant back and neck pain in the months following delivery.

But after her second pregnancy, things were different.

Because she continued with chiropractic care throughout her pregnancy and postpartum season, she did not experience the same tension and pain she had after her first birth.

For many moms, it can be difficult to prioritize their own healing while caring for a newborn. But she found that taking care of her nervous system helped her show up better for her entire family.


A Message to Other Moms

When asked what she would say to another mom who is unsure about starting chiropractic care during pregnancy, her answer was simple.

It is safe.

During pregnancy, every mom’s top priority is protecting and supporting her baby. Neurologically focused chiropractic care provides a natural way to support both mom and baby during this important season.


Supporting Moms Through Pregnancy and Beyond

Pregnancy should not have to be endured through pain and uncertainty.
